Books
In order to help COM students, faculty
and staff suggest books for our collection, COM
Library has created Select Books, which
brings together sites that inform about books: Bestseller
Lists, Book Reviews, New
Books, Publishers, Retailers,
as well as how to Suggest a Book to COM Library and Library Staff
links.
Suggest a Book
If you would like to suggest a book* for COM Library, please call
the Collection Development Librarian at (409) 938-1211 x 204 or email
at
dl-library-collection@com.edu.
Please include Title, Author, ISBN, Publisher and Publication date.
* Note: Books generally take 6-8 weeks from the day ordered to the time
they are placed on the shelf, but it can take longer depending on availability
and other factors. COM Library will inform you when your book has come
in or inform why it was not available.
The following are links to Academic, Commercial and Texas publishers.
Main sites are listed first in larger font. Companies that have multiple
departments/imprints/subsidiaries are listed with the main company in
smaller font. Generally, going to the main site will provide access to
a catalog that includes all departments/imprints/subsidiaries. In some
cases there is no way to search the subsidiaries without going to the
main site.
If you are having a trouble locating your desired publisher,
they may be listed as a subsidiary of a larger publisher. To see if they
are on this page, try going to Edit in your browser and selecting
the Find function. Type in the publisher name to search the page--the
search will take you to the word you typed in.
