The Fine Arts Museums
of San Francisco
This is a joint site of the Legion of Honor
and De Young museums. Access exhibit, collection and
education information. Perhaps of even more interest
is the growing catalogue of the collections, the art ImageBase,
which currently holds over 110,000 images.
Los
Angeles County Museum of Art
Get information on the museum's own masterpieces,
as well as traveling exhibits. Images and excellent

Louvre
Museum (Paris)
Perhaps the most famous museum in the world,
the Louvre also has an excellent web site. Get the

Egyptian Antiquities; Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities;

Museum of Art (New York)

Musee
D'Orsay (Paris)
This museum specializes in European art from 1848-1914 and has the best Impressionist

Museo del Prado (Madrid)
The Museo del Prado, founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture,
also has important collections of drawings (more than 5,000), prints
(2,000), coins and medals (around 1,000), and almost 2,000 decorative
objects and works of art. Sculpture is represented by more than 700 works
and by a smaller number of sculptural fragments.
