Bartleby.com: Columbia
Encyclopedia Based at Bartleby.com. The print version of the online encyclopedia
is well known for it's well researched articles. Each entry includes
list of references. It includes over
50,000 article entries, 40,000 bibliographic citations, and over 80,000
cross-reference entries, the Columbia Encyclopedia, 6th edition contains
much more data than many multi-volume encyclopedias. The entire Columbia
Encyclopedia database is full-text searchable.
The Catholic Encyclopedia The online version of the print publication. This site
is a work in progress that is nearing completion. From Aachen to Zwirner
click on the alphabetical index to access the entries.

with multiple mirror sites. This link is actually a mirror site at the University
of North Carolina. This site has two main sections, Special Exhibits and

description with significant characteristics and artists. Each artist page
includes a brief biography, significant contributions and graphic files of
