do I have at other libraries?
The state of Texas has a reciprocal borrowing program
called the TexShare Card Program. You must get your TexShare card from
COM Library at the circulation desk. Participating TexShare libraries may extend
free reciprocal borrowing privileges to each other's students, faculty
and staff. This may include a range of resources, such as checking
out books and using library computers. See the lending policies of specific

How do I suggest books*
for the library's collection?
Make sure your students can find information on your
subject by suggesting books for COM Library to acquire. We are especially
interested in getting faculty input in their subject areas. No one
knows better than you what you are covering in your classes. Here are
some ways for you to give us input:
Suggest a Book
COM Library has a Suggest a Book form that includes all the information
the library needs to order books--you can get them in the library.
Please include Title, Author, ISBN, Publisher and Publication date.
You may also call Erika Sollosi at x 204 or email
dl-librar y-collection@com.edu with
the same information.
* Books generally take 6-8 weeks from the day ordered
to the time they are placed on the shelf, but it can take longer depending
on availability and other factors. COM Library will inform you when
your book has come in or inform why it was not available.
Tip: Want
to request books but don't know where to start? Try Select
Books, a page designed to help you with book selection. It
brings together sites that inform about books, such as Bestseller Lists,
Book Reviews, First Chapter Collections, New Books, Publishers, and
Retailers.
Does COM Library have a guide for
the subject I teach? Will COM Library make one if I request it?
COM Library's subject guides are an ongoing project.
They are continuously updated, and new ones are made as needed. Some are available in print by the reference desk, but all are available online. The online
versions will always be the most up to date. These guides are designed
to give library users the basic information they need to find resources
by specific subject sin the library, such as books, articles and Internet
resources. If you do not see one for your subject and would like to
request one, contact Kathryn Park at x 201 and we will try to create

Does COM Library have a Web page
for the subject I teach? Will COM Library make one if I request it?
COM Library is in the process of making pages for every
subject covered at COM. Sites listed on these pages are scholarly,
information rich, and/or have a good collection of links to related
sites. Each site listed includes a description. Access . If you have a special interest in getting a Web page
for your subject area, contact Kathryn Park at x 201, and we will try
to expedite its publication.
What library services can I recommend to my distance education
students?
COM Library has created a guide that describes resources
