1. How do I clear a library hold on my grades?

To find out the cause of your hold, circulation staff must look up your records to determine the cause of your hold. This can be done in person at the Circulation Desk, or over the phone. Call 938-1211 x 205/448. To actually clear the hold, you will most likely need to pay a fine, and this must be done in person in the library at the Circulation Desk.

2. If I have a fine, can I still check items out?

No. All fines must be cleared before you can check out more items.

3. Can I pay my fine without bringing the items in?

No. All items must be returned at the time the fine is cleared.

4. How do I resolve a fine/overdue dispute?

If a fine or overdue is in dispute, please contact the Circulation Coordinator at the Circulation Desk, call 938-1211 x 205/448, or email dl-library-circulation@com.edu.

5. Does COM Library charge fines for times when the library is closed, like weekends and holidays?

No.

6. Are there overdue fees?

There are no overdue fees for most library items. Due to high demand, reserve books and math video tapes incur late fees.

7. What are the fees for lost or damaged items?

In order to best serve all our patrons, the library must access a fee for lost or damage d items, which is the cost of each item, plus a processing fee of $10.00 per item.
