Can Use the Library?
Of course COM students, faculty
and staff can use the library, but so can others. Get the details
below.
COM students, faculty and staff
COM students, faculty and staff have full
access to all COM Library resources. Your COM ID is your library card.
For COM students, this library card will be valid for each semester
that you are registered;
for COM faculty and staff, the card is valid throughout the length
of your employment.
ESL/GED Students
ESL/GED students have full
access to all COM Library resources. ESL/GED students can get a library
card by presenting their registration slips at the circulation desk in the
library. This library card will be good for
each semester that you are registered.
Community Users
Community users are free to come in and use any resource in the library.
If you'd like to check out books or access our online resources from
home, you'll need to get a COM Library visitor's card. The visitor's card
is available
to resident's
of
Dickinson,
Hitchcock, LaMarque, Santa Fe
and Texas City (these cities comprise COM's tax base) and cost $10.00/year.
Get one at COM Library's circulation desk with proof of residence, such
as a current Texas driver's license or ID.
TexShare Users
TexShare card holders are free
to come in and use any resource in COM Library. With your current TexShare
card you can check out two books. See more about the TexShare

Minors in the Library
For their own protection and the good of our students, no one under the age of 16 can use the library computers. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or caretakers at all times while in the library. See our full policies on minors.
